Practical, generous courses for writers at different stages, from finding the shape of a first story to preparing a novel for submission. Available online and for universities, libraries, festivals and writing organisations.

Manuscript assessments

A close, considered reading of your novel, short-fiction collection, creative-nonfiction manuscript, poetry collection or portfolio, with detailed feedback on structure, voice, pace, individual pieces and what the work needs next.

One-to-one mentoring

Ongoing support for writers who want deadlines, thoughtful editorial conversation and a clear route through a project. Sessions can focus on the work itself or on submissions, agents and the path towards publication.

Patrick has taught at Maynooth University, the Irish Writers Centre, UCC and PUCRS in Brazil, and has worked with writers through universities, festivals, libraries and literary organisations. He is the 2026 Arts Council Writer in Residence at Maynooth University, a fiction mentor and the founding editor of The Four Faced Liar.
